The COVID-19 pandemic clearly exposed a laundry-list of reasons why digital transformation should be given priority in any business and in life.

As more companies focus their attention on digitizing their operations to meet the changing consumer behavior and compete in their respective markets, leading local IT company, Micro-D International Inc. (MDI), together with its fully-owned subsidiary Novare Technologies, is said to have entered into a multi-billion peso agreement with Japan-based private equity (PE) firm Advantage Partners. Some of Advantage Partners’ global main limited partners include Marubeni Corporation and Mitsui & Co. Interestingly enough, this is the first transaction of the 20 year-old global PE firm in the Philippines. MDI Group was founded by its Chairwoman Myla Villanueva.

The whopping investment deal, which was reported to have been sealed early this year, forms part of the company’s expansion plans to broaden the reach of its products and services and fulfill its digital transformation journey to benefit the country and the rest of the world.
